I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Communication Arts and a minor in Crafts and Material Studies in 2017. As a communication artist, I basically learned a little of everything: graphic design, illustration, typography, concept drawing, character design, figure drawing, photography, basic coding… you name it, I’ve probably done it. The good news is, I held my own with all of them and was exceptional at some of them.

I held a couple of internship positions while in college, gaining real-world experience and upping my skillset. I spent the summer after graduation in Maine, teaching drawing, character design, and metalsmithing to kids at a summer camp (random, I know, but rewarding). Upon my return, I began working full-time at Creative Office Environments in Richmond, VA. This position entailed a lot of deadline-driven design, video, and illustration work, but wasn’t my dream job. In June of 2018, I left Creative (on good terms and with a killer Creative Cloud skillset) to pursue my own freelance business full-time. So far, it is going well and my boss is really happy with me.

I believe in storytelling, attention to detail, and humor. I believe in clean design and beautiful typography. I don't believe in limiting myself to one discipline, medium, or "style," and I am always eager and willing to try something new. I approach each project as a means of communication, and I always have plenty to say. Let’s work together!
